Meritalien ("we," "our," or "us") operates JudgeOS and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at meritalien.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account when you sign up.
  • Profile Data: Professional information you add to your judge profile (headline, bio, expertise, LinkedIn URL, past judging experience).
  • Outreach Data: Email content you compose and send through our platform, recipient addresses, and send/reply status.

3. Gmail Access

When you connect your Google account, we request the gmail.send permission. This allows us to:

  • Send outreach emails from your Gmail account on your behalf

We explicitly do NOT:

  • Read your existing emails
  • Access your contacts
  • Store your Gmail password
  • Send emails without your explicit action (unless Autopilot is enabled by you)

We use Google OAuth tokens to send emails. These tokens are stored securely and can be revoked at any time by disconnecting your Google account in your Google Account settings.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain our services
  • To generate outreach email templates from your profile
  • To send emails through Gmail on your behalf
  • To track outreach status (sent, replied, bounced)
  • To match you with relevant judging opportunities
  • To enforce usage limits based on your subscription tier
  • To communicate with you about service updates

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security policies. All data transmission is encrypted via TLS. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: Database and authentication
  • Google: OAuth authentication and Gmail API
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Vercel: Hosting and deployment

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your profile data, outreach history, and revoke stored tokens within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

  • Access and download your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Revoke Gmail access at any time
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
