Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Meritalien and JudgeOS ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Meritalien provides tools for professionals to discover, apply for, and manage hackathon judging opportunities. JudgeOS is our platform that facilitates outreach to hackathon organizers through the user's own email account.

3. Account Registration

  • You must sign up using a valid Google account
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must provide accurate and complete profile information

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Send spam, harassing, or misleading outreach emails
  • Misrepresent your qualifications or experience in your judge profile
  • Use the Service to send bulk unsolicited emails unrelated to judging
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or billing
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Gmail Integration

The Service sends emails through your connected Gmail account. You understand that:

  • Emails are sent from YOUR email address, not ours
  • You are responsible for the content of emails you send
  • Recipients will see your email address as the sender
  • You can revoke Gmail access at any time through your Google Account settings

6. Subscription and Billing

  • Free Tier: 15 outreach emails per month, basic features
  • Pro Tier ($15/month): Unlimited emails, AI drafts, Autopilot, priority features
  • Subscriptions renew monthly unless cancelled
  • You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • No refunds for partial months

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Meritalien. Your profile data and outreach content remain yours. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use your data solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • Hackathon organizers will respond to your outreach
  • You will be accepted as a judge at any event
  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Scraped hackathon data will always be accurate or current

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meritalien shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost opportunities, reputation damage, or email deliverability issues.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
