What this is
Springer Nature Reviewer Programme - Reviewing Editor application is a reviewing run by Springer Nature. It is aimed at ai engineers, machine learning engineers, technology builders, researchers and academics, biotech professionals, healthcare professionals and climate professionals. Open to global. Career stage: early, mid, senior and student. Free to apply. No fee appears on the programme's own pages; this is an absence of a fee rather than a quoted statement.
Eligibility
Springer Nature's Reviewer Programme is open to researchers across all disciplines through a public 'Reviewing Editor Role Application' form; the form asks for affiliation (university or institution), country of affiliation, whether the applicant has completed a PhD or MD (with an option for 'No, I am currently completing my PhD/MD'), current title, field of research, keywords, publication counts, H-index, a biography and any prior peer review experience. Self-nominating researchers can pick one of the publisher's 42 reviewer communities and name specific Springer Nature journals they would like to review for. The only stated conditions are agreeing to the privacy statement and to the Springer Nature Code of Conduct, with termination for breaches of the Code of Conduct or peer review policies.
How you apply
The route is a single Microsoft Forms application linked as 'Apply for the role here' from the official Peer Reviewers / recruitment page; there is no fee, no third-party nomination and no stated deadline, so it is a rolling intake. Applicants complete 21 questions covering identity, affiliation, doctoral status, research field, chosen reviewer community, publication metrics, biography and review experience, then consent to the privacy statement and Code of Conduct. Springer Nature states further recruitment communication is sent to the email address supplied.
When it closes
Rolling: applications are accepted continuously, or per event, rather than in one window.
What you receive
Successful applicants are onboarded as 'Reviewing Editors', a role Springer Nature describes as recognised across its platforms and journals, with review opportunities at leading journals, free access to courses and workshops, invitations to exclusive events and access to Research Community spaces where they connect with editors and peers globally. The formal objects being received are a named editorial role designation, peer review experience, professional development and, with review activity, a citable record of reviewing (Springer Nature also promotes ORCID to claim review contributions).
